Research Interest: The work in the ER is fast paced most of the time and in the Bahamas the space is inadequate for the numbers of patients and the trauma numbers are high. The majority of the ER workers are female as there are few male nurses and most physicians are female. Their concern was for the effect that the chronic stressful conditions would have on the healthcare workers personal, mental and physical, and consequently on the quality of service delivered to the ER patients. My role as the Liaison Psychiatrist was to address them in this regard and I chose that time to survey their attitudes toward patients and their work conditions.
