Professor Rainer Muller, until now Professor of Assembly Technology at RWTH Aachen, has been appointed as the new Scientific Director of the Center for Mechatronics and Automation Technology .From 2002 to 2006 Muller was CEO of Schenck Final Assembly Products GmbH.On 01.03.2012, Professor Muller will succeed the two Scientific Directors, Professor dr. Andreas Sagittarius and Professor dr. Jurgen Griebsch, who had jointly taken over the scientific management of the ZeMA until the appointment of a full-time Scientific Managing Director during the start-up phase. Background: ZeMA mechatronics and automation technology are among the core competences of the Saar industry. With the founding of the Center for Mechatronics and Automation Technology gGmbH The Saarland Government, the University of Applied Sciences and the University of Saarland in 2009 established sustainable cooperation in the field of engineering. The focus of the center is on application-oriented research and development together with industrial partners, also and especially with a regional focus.
