Sunethra Rajapakse is a Senior Professor in Periodontology at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka where she earned her Bachelor of Dental surgery and MPhil degrees. She completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne, Australia. She has done her post doctoral work at the University of Florida USA and worked as a visiting scholar at the University of Washington USA. 

Research Interest:

 Her present research work focuses on anti-biofilm and anti-inflammatory effects of natural products with a view to develop low cost alternative therapeutic and intervention strategies for treatment and prevention of caries and periodontal disease
