Nagesh Kumar

Prof. D. Nagesh Kumar is working in the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, since May 2002. He is the Chairman, Centre for Earth Sciences, IISc since March 2014. He is also Associate Faculty in Interdisciplinary Centre for Water Research (ICWaR) and Divecha Centre for Climate Change (DCCC) of IISc.

He has published about 200 papers in leading international journals and conferences in his research fields and co-authored five text books. He is the Editor-in-Chief of â€œH2 Open Journalâ€ by IWA Publishing, UK, Associate Editor for ASCE Journal of Hydrologic Engineering and ISH Journal of Hydraulic Engg. He has been reviewer for more than 70 international journals. He received IBM faculty award for the year 2012 for his outstanding research in the field of modeling hydrologic extremes using microwave remote sensing.

Research Interest:

His research interests include Climate Hydrology, Water Resources Systems, Climate Change Impact on Water Resources, ANN, Evolutionary Algorithms, Fuzzy logic, MCDM and Remote Sensing & GIS applications in Water Resources Engineering.
