Dr. Meor Othman is currently a professor in highway engineering at the School of Civil Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He was awarded a doctoral degree from Leeds University for his pioneering work in porous asphalt which now remains as one of his niche area of research. He began his career as an academic staff at the USM in 1984. In tandem with the USM focus on sustainability, he has conducted many research and presentations on warm mix asphalt. With more than 200 papers mostly on asphalt technology published in reputed journals and proceedings; he is considered well versed in his area of expertise. He has carried out numerous consultancy projects for the Malaysian government, private agencies, overseas clients; and produced numerous technical and consultancy reports.
