Dr. Junaid Ahmed is presently a Professor in the Department of Oral Medicine & Radiology, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), India. He obtained his Masters (M.D.S) in the speciality of Oral Medicine & Maxillofacial Radiology in the year 1997. With a Cumulative experience of more than 20years, Dr. Junaid Ahmed has actively involved himself in various Dental Associations and Forums and is presently Executive Committee Member of State Indian Dental Association. He has also worked in the capacity of Member, Ethical committee, Indian Academy of Oral Medicine & Radiology and as Reviewer and Editorial Board Member in Various National & International Journals. He Received the Research Incentive award in the year 2014 from MAHE and has been a member, Board of studies, MAHE. He has  delivered more than 50  Guest lectures on various aspects in the fields of  both Oral Medicine & Maxillofacial Radiology at National and International Conferences and has presently more than 100 National & International indexed publications to his Credit. He has undergone Training for Ethical Committee Certification by Boston University and CBCT Imaging Training at Planmeca, Helsinki, Finland. He has also undergone Certification in completion of Good clinical practice by NIDA clinical trials network, U.S.A and is presently the Editor, Indian Dental Association (IDA) Newsletter, Dakshina Kannada branch, Karnataka state, India. He is presently holding the position of Vice Chairman, Ethics Review Committee (ERC), Indian Academy of Oral Biology (IAOB).

His field of Interests currently includes Orofacial Pain Management & 3D Imaging in Dentistry.
