Dr Hany Helmy worked as a Professor at Textile Research and Technology Institute, National Research centre since 1995. He is specialized in preparation and application of natural dyes on cotton, wool and silk fabrics, which is a part of his Master and PhD thesis. He also supervised many theses about dyeing wool and cotton with natural dyes. The new technology of ultrasonic energy was used for both extraction and dyeing of natural and synthetic fabrics for developing good fast colors. This is an eco-friendly trend, which has a good environmental impact on the society. He also worked in modification of different fabrics using plasma technique which consider as an environmentally friendly technique. He has about 40 papers published in international journals. He worked as visiting scholar at College of Textiles, North Carolina State University for 18 months (2008, 2013). He also worked in teaching different textile courses (as a part time Professor) in many faculties listed as follow; Faculty of Applied Arts, University of Damietta, )2012-2013), Higher Institute of Applied Arts, New Cairo Academy (2014-2016), and Faculty of Arts & Design, October University for Modern Sciences & Arts (MSA)(2017-2018) and (2022-2023). In 2020 He worked as an Egyptian expert with Werner International (American company for Consulting) in a project with Egyptian holding company.
