The research of Prof. Fiorino is part of Medicinal Chemistry and is addressed, in particular, to design, synthesis and characterization of molecules potentially active on several pharmacological targets. This research activity is mainly focused on the development of serotoninergic ligands with high affinity towards 5-HT1A, 5-HT2A and 5-HT2C receptors. Moreover, a great number of paper was focused on the research of peptide and peptidemimetic derivatives acting as enzymatic inhibitors and/or substrates; such activity is documented by 92 publications on international journals, 1 patent and several communications in Congresses and Conferences.
