Professor Dr. Chih-Wei Peng received the B.S. degree in physical therapy from Chang Gung University, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. He was a visiting scholar in Duke University in 2006-2007. He is currently a full Professor of the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and the deputy director of Research Center of Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology, Taipei Medical University. He also serves as the secretary-general of Taiwan Rehab. Eng. and Assistive Technology Society and the board of supervisor of Taiwanese Society of Biomedical Engineering. Currently, he works for more than 10 international journals as reviewers, which covering neuroscience, brain stimulation, medical engineering, neural engineering, and rehabilitation science.
Research Interest:
His research interests include physical therapy, brain neuromodulation, biomedical engineering, neural engineering, rehabilitation engineering, neural prostheses, urological electrophysiology, and functional electrical stimulation. Currently, he focuses his research direction on the development and application of the newly novel therapeutic technology by using transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) approaches on patients with traumatic brain injury,Parkinson's disease, stroke, etc.
