Prof. Severino’s research interests focus on the design, synthesis and characterization of molecules potentially active on several pharmacological targets. She has long been working in the area of peptide and peptidomimetic synthesis focusing the attention on kallikreins and protease activated receptors (PARs). Additional interests include the development of: i) selective serotonin receptors ligands; ii) sphingosine-1-phosphate pathway acting peptidic and small molecule derivatives; iii) and, more recently, novel pharmacological tools useful for elucidating H2S biological functions. She is author of 87 papers on international journals and of a patent.
