The workshop will look at Home Nursing & Aftercare within the UAE. Topics discussed will be the difference in home nursing in the different international healthcare industries and the importance of home nursing and accurate aftercare in the recovery of patients. Topics discussed will be the range of care that can be provided and the gaps that are in the care within the UAE. Within the UAE Private sector involvement is becoming imperative to meet the rising demand for healthcare as well as to reduce the burden of costs on the government finances. Government policies aim to increase insurance coverage and provide other infrastructure support to facilities such as Home care. The Workshop will include the different types of services Home Care can offer in the privacy and dignity of the patient’s home. The services discussed will be the current list of services provided and will incorporate the rise for further services to be provided in the community.
Joanne Cardy is a UK trained nurse with over ten years’ experience between the UK and the Middle East. Qualified from London South Bank University in London, Joanne went on to acquire a second degree in Palliative care. Nominated and awarded nurse of the year from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Hospital, Joanne’s passion for her work has shown throughout her career. Currently the Clinical manager at Emirates Home Nursing, Joanne continues to share this knowledge and enthusiasm through her training and educational workshops for nurses in the UAE.
